this weekend

This weekend was pretty crazy. So much happened!

Scott's best friend Matt was getting married this last weekend to a sweet girl named Jill. Scott's parents bought us plan tickets to Colorado for the wedding because they didnt want Scott to have to miss such an important day just because we were dirt poor. haha So we flew out there Friday afternoon. Unfortuantly I made a really bad choice on the way to the airport... I had been DYING to try one of those 5 hour energy shots for a while now. Im really used to energy drinks like Rockstar and I figured since everyone said it was really awesome I would give it a try...on an empty stomach...in the car...on the 45 minute drive to the airport. WORST IDEA EVER!!!! I already get motion sickness in the car, so I was so jittery and anxious that by the time we got to the airport I threw up in a bush. I know, I'm such a lady.

We got some water in the airport and I felt better, until I was waiting in line and there was like 20 teenage boys way too close to my bubble. I started having a little panic attack and by the time we got on the plane I felt like I was gonna pass out. To make a lons story short, there was storms over DIA and we had to wait 45 minutes after boarding to be able to take off, and then we were 7th in line for the runway, another 45 minutes. Man I was freaking out. By the time we took off there was a ton of turbulance. (p.s. I never really get scared on planes, they are actually kind of fun) but this was amplified because of my crazy drink.

On the plane I had a full blown panic attack. My family genetically suffers from panic attacks and anxiety. I don't get them a lot, but I do get them. The last time I had one was a year ago in a Texas Roadhouse that was way to crowded! If you have never felt a panic attack, they are honestly horrible, and I am not exaggerating. All of the sudden there is this all consuming fear. Your chest tightens, you hyperventilate, your lips and tounge go dumb, and no matter what you do you cannot calm down. Luckily there was a nurse sitting in the aisle right across from me and she told me she sees people in the ER all the time because of those things. She was so nice, she talked me through techniques to calm down and it helped so much even though I was so embarrased and felt dumb :)

Once we got to Colorado and off that plane life was a lot better haha. My parents and Scott's met at Outback and we finally got some food! The rest of the trip went very well. Matt and Jill got married on Saturday morning in the Denver Temple. I was excited because I had never been in this one before and it was my home temple. Its pretty small compared to Salt Lake but still beautiful!

The sealing was really special, so sweet and you could just tell they loved eachother so much. Afterward Jill loved gorgeous in her dress and they took pictures outside. At around 1pm we went to their luncheon and per-took in the glorios buffet of food complete with chocolate fondue fountain.

Right after Scott and I headed over to Lodo's in Highlands Ranch to meet up with my long lost best friend Kendra. Kendra and I were best friends for many years and due to pride on both parts, we just fell away. But when I saw here it just reminded me of how much I just love that girl and always have, we almost cried talking about old time and fun things we did. She was such a good friend to me, probably the truest I have ever had and nobody has ever made me laugh harder. We met with her guy she has been seeing and he was really nice. Just seeing her made we want to move back to CO ASAP!

After that we heade back over to a reception in the park for Matt and Jill. They had the sweetest little reception outside in a park, and they took so much time decorating it, and the prettiest cake that Jill herself made! It was so cute. During the dances Scott even got teared up over Matt, and he never cries. It was a really special day. The next day we headed back to Utah after staying with my family who I always love to see, and now we are home. PHEW! what a fast and crazy weekend.

Forgiveness: My Burden Was Made Light

This is SUCH a moving video. When you think about your life, it's hard to imagine being able to have that much faith, compassion, and love that you could forgive something like this. But through Christ, anything is possible.

Right now...

Right now.... I am thinking about life and the choices I have made

This morning... I didn't want to leave my comfortable bed and my sweet husband sleeping like an angel.

At lunchtime... I was sitting with my pre-k class feasting on PB&J

Today I...got faced with a lot of things to think about. It hit me in the face.

My husband...is out working hard. I can't explain how much I love him.

My friends...are incredible. They always make me feel better.

My sisters...are the weirdest and funniest people I know.

My head feels...Stressed about all the options I have in front of me.

I can't wait...to be in Colorado this weekend and see my family.

I will...do the laundry...eventually.

My dad used to say.... all sorts of funny jokes and then laughs out loud. He still does.

Right now... Im happy and in love.

What about you?

life has been so crazy!

It has been a little while since I last posted anything, with good reason though. Life has just been out of control until just a few days ago! As you all know, we were in St. Louis Missouri while Scott was working for Pinnacle Security selling systems. We dropped everything to take a chance and go out there basically on a whim. Scott left his job at Human Voice and I left my job at the Preschool. We were gone for a total of 6 weeks. We liked Missouri ok, but it had its really hard time too. We discovered very quickly that this kind of job was kind of diffiuclt to do if you are a really honest person. Granted there a few people who can sell without compromissing their integrity, but for most of the guys out there, and the managers, they get pretty desensitized to how much they jump the gun, "assume the sale" and basically trample other people to come out on top; and for us we just so no way around it. We didnt like the atmosphere, the drama, the general way of living there. We weren't making the money. It was depressing for him to have to go out everyday, work his bum off, and have nothing to show for it. It was depressing for me to lay around all day, doing nothing, not feeling motivated or inspired in anyway, and then spend more time laying arouind when Scott got home cause he was so tired.

We decided to go home. We made an ultimatum a week before, if he sold one or less we were going to cut our losses and go home. That was put into action the day after the 4th of July. We were grateful to be helped by his kind parents get a little more on track financially, and we made it back to Utah safely! We stopped in Colorado on the way for a day and spent it with my family. We got to visit with my sister Rach who has lost so much weight! WOOHOO! way to go! and then kept driving to Utah. I can honestly say I have never been so excited and so happy to be home. I felt like I belonged there and finally felt comfortable, and not hot and miserable! Im so happy I can't even tell you. We have been busy here since we got back just getting back into the swing of things. Scott got his job back which is such a blessings, and I get my Pre-K class back in August so until then I applied at Macy's cosmetics department and have an interview next week. We had to unpack and we also had a lot of activites with friends that we have done as soon as we came back, including going to natural hot springs in the mountains in Springville, FHE activities involving Nacho Libre and Oatmeal cookies, and we have a lot to look forward to coming up. Tubing Provo River Saturday, Im teaching in Releif Society and a BBQ with my extended family Sunday, and have a month of fun activities coming up, like Pioneer day party at the bishops house, BBQ party for my work, and ward camp-out. SO fun!

Im so happy to be back, in our home, around our friends and people we love. We excited for all the fun things coming up and are glad we get to be here and enjoy it. There is truly no place like home. :)

p.s. that little compadre I was talking about in my last post? her name is Stinkerella, and I am in love.

Lately

I have not blogged in a while. Not much has happened, you didnt miss a lot. My birthday happened I guess. That's basically all I can say, it happened. Lets just say the older I get the more I realize birthday's are totally pointless. I used to get so excited about my birthday when I was younger, I seriously used to consider it a holiday. But now Im older and I realize birthday's are just not that important anymore, to anyone and life just gets in the way. Ahh getting older. It's lovely. I did get a nice check from my parents to spend on whatever I wanted. And spend I did! HAHA I went crazy in Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, and H&M. Yeah they have one of those out here! very cool. It was nice, it's not often anymore that I just get to buy clothes without asking the top dogs permission. :)

In other news Missouri is getting disgustingly hot. That is all I have to say about that.

Scott is working very hard lately, not that he doesn't always but I am so proud of him! He is so dedicated and driven, qualities I admire of him very much. I cannot lie, this Pinnacle Security thing has been MORE than a pain in our butts. The area, the managers, the people he works with, ugh. But Scott is just such a wonderful person and he is so optimistic so I just know this will turn out for us.

We went to St. Louis downtown 2 Sundays ago after church, I haven't been there since I was 8 years old. (Fun fact of the day!: I was baptized in the Missouri river in Nauvoo) aside from the fact that walking from your car to a trash can 10 feet away causes beads of sweat down your face and back, it was awesome to walk around and enjoy the sites! We love being able to spend quality time together :)

Well that is my update. Stay tuned friends, my next post will be about a little compadre I added to keep me company. Ohhh yes. I did it again. XOXO

New Town

So the end of this week here has been a lot better. On Thursday night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner to meet up with some of Scott's office. While we were there I met one of the other wives named Whitney. Yesterday she invited me to go to the pool with her and another one of the wives named Jane. I really like these girls, they are really sweet, and Whitney has the CUTEST little 18 month old named Jett. We are trying to plan more activities through the week so we are not so terribly bored!

Today we went to the adorable little town called New Town. It seriously is the most perfect little town. It looks like straight out of a magazine or like the town from the Stepford Wives. The houses are all perfect, their little shops and boutiques are all perfect, everything about this town was perfect, its like you would never need to leave. It had a dentist, a barber, a church. Everything you would ever need! Has anyone ever seen The Truman Show? It was like that, like built to be in a movie or something, but people actually live there...and get married there apparently. There was like 4 weddings today. But anyway I took a few pictures of the cute stuff there, and at this Boutique I found a funny coaster (see below) and I found sex tokens hahaha really. You can't see it very well, but one of them says 'good for a afternoon delight' LOL you better believe I bought them. And I took a way cute picture of Jett playing in the sand (yes sand! white sand! this town had it all, I felt like I was on the East coast.)

...Day 4

I have been here in Creve Coeur Missouri now for 4 days. 4 really long days. It's not that I hate it here, it's actually really beautiful and hot, which I am enjoying. There are 4 pools at my complex and there is a HUGE mall down the street, so that is not a problem. It's just really hard out here. Right now the other girls are not out here yet. They are both getting married this weekend, and wont be here for another week and half, and Scott is gone at work all day= me alone ALLLLL day long. I have been spending my days sleeping in, I have gone on runs and walks and explored the area, gone to the mall, layed out at the pool, watched lifetime movies on my laptop (we have no cable and thank the lord for unsecured wifi). yes it may sound like I am living a cushey lazy life right now, but it is actually very lonely. I dont know one single person here, and Scott is gone all day. But the plus side is it really makes me appreciate him more and the time I get to spend with him, and I get excited for when he gets home.

Scott is selling security systems for Pinnacle. I am really excited for him, but it is really scary. It is full commission and if he does not sell one one day he does not make any money. The first day he went out, which was Monday, he worked all day and finally called me around 4:30 to come pick him up (he usually is supposed to work till like 9). He was so frustrated because he was rejected all day and made no money. He came home with the worst headache so bad that during the night he woke up and layed on the bathroom floor cause he thought he was gonna throw up. POOR BABY! I knew he must truly not feel good, cause I have never seen him sick, ever!

But yesterday he sold one! I was so excited I almost danced around our apartment. I can just tell this is going to be a roller coaster of a summer.
