today I'm a movie critic

As I have said before, one of Scott's old mission companions is the manager at the Provo 16 movie theather, and gets us free tickets to movies all the time. THANKS MARC! So if it's in the theaters, I've probably seen it. If I haven't seen it, I will probably be seeing it. (assuming its not R)

Scott and I see a large helping of movies, probably more than healthy, through the movie theather and redbox...we spend probably 10-15 dollars a month on redbox movies, we should really just get netflix again. Anyway Scott and I have just recently seen a great deal of awesome movies, both rented and in theaters! First of all tonight we went and saw Water For Elephants.

OH...MY...GOSH. It is so awesome. There are a lot of sad parts, well actually pretty much the entire movie is horribly sad. But that doesn't mean its not fantastic! I will warn you though that it has quite a bit of sad parts involving animals dying, animal abuse...I will openly admit I cried during 2 seperate scenes of the movie due to the animals. But I am an absolute animal lover. I cried when I hit a bird with my car, I believe huunting is wrong, yada yada yada. So if you are an animal lover too, this movie will probably envoke some pretty strong emotions. Either way, you must see it. It has a fabulous ending, and I walked out of the theather smiling. That's the way it should be. We will own Water For Elephants I decided.

Another movie that will leave you smiling out of the theater is Arthur. We laughed pretty much the entire time, and have used some of the funny lines in our conversations since. That movie is truly super cute and super worth seeing, even if you think Russell Brand is a wierdo and wears too tight of pants. Which I do.

Well in the way of redbox movies, lets discuss Country Strong for a minute. What the h????

I was really looking forward to that movie. I love Gwenyth Paltrow, I love Tim McGraw, I love country. Match made in depressing heaven! I haven't seen a movie that depressing since I Am Legend, which I refused to ever watch again simply due to the fact that he cries to genuinly to the store manniquen, and strangles his dog. But that's another story. Oh my goodness, from the previews I thought that it was gonna end up some upbeat, turn your life around, find the good in life movie, and rather it ended up sad, and confusing, with the most expectedly depressing ending ever. I liked it, would I watch it again? Maybe if my day was just a little too happy and great and I really needed something to ground me back into the real world fast! Which is what we all want on a super great day, to make it less great! mmmkay no. Well the songs are good, I really liked the Coming Home one, and Paltrows dresses were pretty. That's the upside.

So on occassion we will have gone through and seen every single PG-13 and under movie in the entire redbox, and end up getting a total random one that you never even saw a preview for, or knew it went to theathers...but Scott's friend Billy told us about this random movie called Catfish, so we got it.

And let me just say, I was seriously glued to the screen the entire time. I usually can't make it past 5 or so minutes watching a movie in my bed without konking out, but this one I was actually sitting up, hanging on every scence. It's a documentary about a guy who starts a relationship with a girl on facebook, and well seriously you just have to see it. It's so freaky weird. Like I mean it, this movie is the EXACT reason I don't accept anyone I don't know in person on facebook as a friend. Yikes. You will seriously be so creeped out, and actually kind of sad for the people in the movie. People are CRAZY! Anyway, see it. See it, see it, see it.

Thank you for your time. :)

Mommy came to visit!

I had been looking forward to this last week FOREVER! My mom was coming from Colorado to Utah to come pick up my sister Courtney and take her back from college at BYU. I haven't seen my mom since Christmas and I was so excited to have her here (except I was wish my dad was able to come too)

On Wednesday night I drove out to Herriman since my mom had just gotten in town. After I got there we went to IN-N-OUT since Colorado doesn't have one and my mom was dying to try it. We went with my grandma and grandpa O'Very, and my mom and I shared one of their awesome chocolate shakes:)

On Thursday my mom drove to Provo and hung out with me all day! We went shopping for the majority of the day, and finally headed over to lunch, which I was DYING FOR! We went to our favorite lunch spot, The Olive Garden, for their unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks.

After lunch Scott had finally gotten off work and we all headed over to the BYU art museum to see the Carl Bloch art exhibit, something my dad really wanted us to see since Carl Bloch is his favorite artist. I had a very very blonde moment at the exhibit waiting to go in, in which I stated to my mom "You know it would have been really cool if he was able to come to the opening and we could meet the artist." OMG. My mom responded that she was pretty sure he was dead. Very dead. I googled him on my phone and sure enough...very dead. He died in the 1800's. OY VEY! I would just like to defend myself in saying I had never heard of Carl Bloch and I had NO idea he was dead. So I cut myself a break :)

Anyway, the exhibit was really cool. Definetly worth taking a look at while its still around for the month of May. After the art exhibit my mom, Scott, and I went to Pizza Pie Cafe (Scott's favorite) and we split a cookie monster. For those of you who go to BYU-IDAHO, you know Craigo's cookie monster? Same thing. AHHHHHH so divine. I don't even like sweets but I cant help but get a cookie moster everytime I'm there. Warm pizookie, topped with a layer or icecream, whipped cream, covered in chocolate and caramel sauce.

The next day on Friday I took no pictures. We worked alllllll day to help Courtney move out of her apartment. Actually I rephrase that, I hardly worked at all, I carried light stuff, and sat in the truck and complained a lot about how I was hungry and needed food. My mom, Courtney, and Scott really did all the work, but I did bring the truck, so YAY FOR ME! Then we drove back down to Herriman to drop off Court's endless supply of college crap at my grandma's house, but on the way we stopped near the SouthTowne mall and treated ourselves to MY favorite food, Chipotle. Since they have one of pretty much every corner in Colorado, yet in Utah its so far away from where I live, it's a nice treat when I get it. Later that night my grandma made a nice dinner for all of us while roast, mashed potatoes, and corn. yummm :)

I had such a good time with my mom in town. I wish we had more time together, or better yet, I wish I just lived back in Colorado and could see my family all the time. Some day, some day. Until then I can't wait till my family comes to Utah for the 4th of July for our Family Reunion. I seriously can't wait.

Beautiful

Today I was looking through some old pictures and I found a pic of my friends, Paige, Brit, Rachel and I when were in Vegas a couple years ago. I was looking at this picture and thinking we all look so different, and yet everyone of these girls is ABSOLUTLEY beautiful. Paige is off serving a mission in Chile, Brit is bravely battling Melanoma skin cancer, and Rachel is married, living in Washington with her husband and cute dog Dexter.

I thought about how actually...each one of my friends is so beautiful, each one is so special, each one has something about them that make then undeniably wonderful. We all may look different, but every one of us should be proud of who we are, we are BEAUTIFUL inside and out, and don't let anybody tell you differently. :)

I love this song, its the perfect song for every girl. It so inspirational.

Date night

This last weekend Scott and I had 2 awesome date nights in a row. On Friday Scott and I went to see the movie Insidious. One of Scott's old mission companions is the manager at the Provo 16 Cinemark and gets us free tickets all the time :) We started off the night by going to Red Robin cause Scott won a $25 dollar gift card from his March Madness picks. Then we went and saw the movie. Insidious is one of the creepiest movies ever!!!!! Scott and I have a thing for scary movies, but this one really freaked us both out pretty good, usually Scott thinks most scary movies are lame afterward, but we were both really jumpy and afterward he kept saying how well the movie was made. Nothing beats a completley free date!

Then on Saturday night our friends Bj and Aubrey were down in from Salt Lake City for the Preisthood Session and after it was over we went ove the Happy Sumo to have Sushi (which Aubrey had never had.) After dinner we headed over to the new Provo Beach Resort to look around, then we went back to our house where we spent waaaaay too long talking until 1:30 in the morning.

We love date nights<3

I always forget what April 1st is....

So today I had just gotten to work and I got a call from Scott, I had missed his first call and he left a message, he also sent me a text message saying "you need to call me back" I immediently knew somehting was up. I called him back and he sounded distressed.

me: "is everything ok?"

him: "not really, I need you to come get me and take me to work."

me: "why???"

him: "well I couldn't find any parking at school this morning so I just parked on the street, and I just got out of class and my truck is gone, I'm pretty sure it got towed."

me: "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!???? WE DON'T HAVE MONEY TO BAIL IT OUT OF BEING TOWED!"

him: "I know, I just really need to get to work, can you please drive back down here and drive me to work?"

I was freaking out because I had left early from work yesterday cause I was sooooo sick and was dry heaving all morning, and all I could think was "crissa is gonna kill me for leaving her again." but I said yes I would be right there.

...as soon as I agreed the phone went silent until Scott finally shouted "APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!"

I repeatedly told him I was gonna kill him, I think I might have also called him a bad word. His trick was very believable because he sounded really upset, and Scott is never upset like that, he also has had a history of a few parking tickets at BYU because their parking system is so crappy, so I could totally imagine his car would be towed.

I hate April Fools day. I always forget everytime.
