So I have sucked at blogging pretty much the last 2 months. I don't know what has gotten into me, but it's certainly not motivation. Seeing how its almost the end of August, I should probably update about the 4th of July seeing as it was forever ago, and I have a lot more current things to update on here.
Well our 4th of July festivities started out with our ultrasound, and we all know the outcome of that. But that night my family came into town (minus Rachael and Courtney)for our family reunion and we were going to go to dinner that night. I really wanted to tell my family the sex of our baby in a special way, so I decided to buy some black balloons, one for each family member, and we filled one balloon with pink confetti that says "IT'S A GIRL". Once we got the restaruant we passed out the balloons and had them pop them, to see who got the special surprise. It ended up being my dad, and as soon as my mom saw it was a girl, she started squeeling cause she was so happy. I wish I had gotten a recording, or at least a picture, but it all happened so fast :( The rest of dinner was great, we went to Los Hermanos followed by them coimg over to see our new place (which I promise, I will put up pictures of as soon as its ready).
The next day all our family got together at Temple Square. My grandparents serve a mission there right now at the Family History Center, so they wanted us to see where they work. It was a good day, but MUCH too hot for me to handle, but I did see my dear missionary friend Jenna Mettra! By the time we got back to my grandma's house for our BBQ, Scott and I took a nap :)
The next day my family had a picnic at the historic Wheeler Farm. Which P.S. you should go to...its kinda smelly, but super fun to pet all the animals. My dad who grew up on a farm even caught a chicken and put it to sleep using this special technique. Maybe I will put a video up soon.
Finally on the 4th of July, we had our traditional BBQ. It was so fun to just be able to spend time with my amazing family. It was the last day that they were in town, and by the end of the night when we had to say goodbye, I let the pregoo hormones get the best of me and I cried... a lot. I pretty much cried all the way home. But I miss my family, especially my parents, and wish that we could go to Colorado to see them more. We had such a great 4th of July weekend and can't wait for the next holiday!
Anyway I have a TON of more stuff to update my blog on, but maybe I'll do it tomorrow...or maybe I'll wait another month :)
YAY a new post :) You are so freakin cute with your baby belly! I am so happy for you! I need to come see you and bring your little girl her present :) Hope all is well. Sounds like the summer has been really fun for you guys.
ReplyDeleteAwww Morgan! You have such a way with words. If you wrote a book, I would totally read it. I love, love, LOVE reading your blog. And I have to say, you are by far the most creative person I know. Like the whole balloon thing to tell your family what the sex of the baby was and your pics and notes to your little baby girl that you do every week- so creative and brilliant! I hope you are doing well!!!! And I have 2 little girls, so if you need anything (since kids go thru clothes like underwear because they grow so fast) let me know!!!! Take care. And btw, its Tasha :) sorry I don't know how to post a comment with my name by it!
