Christmas in Colorado

Aside from this being our first christmas as a MARRIED couple, we got to spend the holidays with my wonderful family. We drove to Colorado where we spent 5 fun filled days with my parents and sisters. We started out our Christmas partying by going to the movie Little Fockers on Thursday (P.S. SO FUNNY) and then we came home and had a home cooked meal...by me. but we did stop by the store and found this when we got home, the boys playing a round of mortal combat lol Friday which was Christmas Eve the girls decided to go shopping and the boys went to a shooting range for some male bonding. Me and my sisters and mom all went to Park Meadows and finished our last minute Christmas shopping. On the way there I caught this awesome video: sorry its sideways (pause my music to watch)
Afterward we went to Carino's for our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. After being incredibly full and fat we all watched It's a Wonderful Life. Such a great Christmas movie. Christmas morning, we of course took turns opening presents and we were EXSTATIC to find my mom bought us a Wii!!! We are so excited to finally play super mario brothers and mario kart from our own home. Also my sweet husband got me this perfume that smells like Heaven in a bottle. Goodness I love that man. Here are some of my favorite Christmas present reactions: The rest of our Christmas was awesome. Enjoying our tradional holiday meal put on by my mom (which by the way is the BEST christmas meal you could ever eat) lounging around, and just enjoying the day. Also enjoy this little video of sweet little Goosey getting in the holiday spirit haha:

Oh yes, and Sunday we all went and got family pictures taken. They are going to be so cute I can't wait. Once the Photographer releases them I will put them up. I love Christmas and can't wait till next year.

It seems to me

It seems to me that a majority of "liberal people" on the earth, especially in the United States are a little more than hypocritcal. Im not the kind of person who likes to publicly discuss politics or BLAST my social viewpoints all over my blog or facebook. I know what I believe, I know what is relevant in my life is true, and if you want to believe what I believe then wonderful. If not, well that's fine too. But today I spent a good hour and a half looking at a high school friend's blog. I usually dont have that much time to sit and look through pages of someones blog, but today we are in Ogden visiting Scott's parents for 3 days, and we are doing nothing but relax.

So here I am looking at this "friends" blog. She is unmistakably liberal, pro-choice, and all for social justice, and I noticed that most of what she is blarring on her blog is as hypocritcal as the people she is calling out. All over this blog, it is filled with Anti-white supremacy cartoons (she is white), anti-homophobic quotes, and news articles on equality. She says thing like "of you don't support this, or are not angred by this, there is something wrong with you" or "If I see you post this or suppost this or that, I will unfollow you!" In many of the posts she states that if you are not all for Gay and Lesbian rights you are a terrible person and basically better off dead. If you are a rebuplican you are ruining the world, that if you are relgious or believe in god you are "f-ing stupid" or an idiot. At one point I even recall her saying something to the affect of someone not having liberal views, being "the scum of the earth, worse than scab eaters." But my favorite is a quote posted by Kurt Cobain- “If you’re a sexist, racist, homophobe, or basically an asshole, don’t buy this CD. I don’t care if you like me, I hate you.” hmmmmmm preaching love AND hate are we?

At this point I was rather confused considering that a few pages later she had a quote saying "Be kind to others, even those who you may not understand, and you will start a revolution."

Where is that being put into action?

She is screaming for equality, she is screaming for acceptnace, she is screaming for TOLERANCE. Yet she demostrates none. It just seems to me that you cannot play both sides of the field. You cannot demand tolerance of people who are different that you, or have different view points, and then turn around and not be tolerant of those who don't believe the same way as you. That is called hypocricy.

I am not liberal. That I am sure not a surprise. I am rebuplican I guess. Moreover I suppose to simply vote for legislature and presidents who's goals and morals fall in line with those similar to mine, no matter the party. I didnt not vote for Obama because he was black. Who cares if he was white, black, hispanic, asian? I didnt vote for him because he bleieves in half life abortions. I didnt vote for him because he believes in Health Care reform, which screws over good hardworking people like my parents. That is why. No other reason. I believe in marriage being between a man and woman. But I do believe if you are a man, you have all the right in the world to love another man. That is your perogative, and I don't think there is anything wrong with being liberal. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I don't have a problem with that girl, nor am I caring to attack her. The blog just got me thinking though. My problem is when you get mad at other people for doing exactly what you do. You demand to be understood, but do not care to understand them. Being an extreme liberal confuses me. Intolerance isn't just being racist, or homophobic. Intolerance can also be a liberal hating other people for not being liberal JUST LIKE YOU. Liberals says "let people choose" "let people decide for themsleves"

You can't be mad when they do. You are calling the kettle black.

Food obsessions as of lately...take 2.

Its time to play another round of "What crap are the Allens eating now?" Well I will tell you the things that have been addicting like kryptonite, and those things making apperances a lot lately in our home.

1. Candy Cane Hershey's kisses
Is it so wrong that I ate most of the bag between 2 and 5 pm today? I submit that it is not!

2. Rice-a-roni Fried Rice
knock off asian cuisine, rice-a-roni style. I dig it.

3. Southwestern Ranch Dip
This needs no explination. Try it yourself.

4. Cookies
Im not totally sure through which medium these things keep getting in our house, in every awray of types. I think some of it is my school, some of it our friends, some of it is our neighbors. Im not complaining. But my weight lose goal before Christmas has been devestated. We all make sacrifices for the greater good.

Park City, Temple Lights, & friends

Well we have had another busy couple weeks, as I suspected this month would be. Scott and I are preparing to go to Colorado to see my family for Christmas. We are leaving on the 22nd and coming back the 27th. Scott is finishing up the semester and preparing for finals, and I am indulging in every minute of "The 12 days of Teacher Appreciation" at my school and getting the awesome gifts from the PTO and student counsel.

Besides that not much happens during the week except worj and school. Oh! My blog stalker Katie wrote me another crazy pants message this last week on facebook, pretending to be her sister. oh goodness. Everytime she writes me she looks more pathetic I feel more bad for her and the life she must be living. That poor thing.

On to a funner topic, my school had our Teacher Christmas party which was WAY fun. We had dinner from Zupas (Martinellis included) and exchanged secret santa gifts. VerDaun the front office lady who is in her 70's or 80's was seriously the life of the party. We she was saying the funniest stuff (most of which I cant repeat, lets just say she is very sassy for an elderly woman) and she actually made herself cry from laughing. Other people were chatting, but Me, Ashley, and Amanda were rolling arounf in laughter. I havent laughed THAT hard in a long time. I love my co-workers.

Then on Friday we went up to Park City with a bunch of our friends, and stayed in our friends really nice house overlooking the ski resorts. This has been our 4th stay at this house this year, and we love it everytime. We played the wii, played the Adams Family game again, and had an awesome dinner. The next morning we had breakfast, and headed down to the outlet malls to look around.

By this time I was not feeling very good, and we had to make a pit stop, but Scotty got me a Peppermint shake, since im OBSESSED with perppermint. He is so sweet. Scott and I then headed to Salt Lake where we were meeting up with our friend Bj and Aubrey, and Craig and Stephanie. Before we got together Scott and I went and saw the movie Joseph Smith, Prophet of the Restoration. I had never seen it, and let me tell you, if you have not seen it, you must. It was the most powerful movie I have ever seen. I cried, Scott cried. It is just so touching and after watching it you just have such a greater love for Joseph Smith and all he did for the church. He truly was a man called of God. After we were done, we met up with our friends and walked around temple square, hit up Carls Jr, and went Ice Skating!

Here are some pictures of ice skating:)(the last picture is my favorite)

After we went and got some Hot Chocolate from the Salt Lake Roasting Co. yummmmmy. We had an awesome weekend and CAN'T wait for the next few. We are so blessed to have wonderful friends, especially during this holiday season.

Tis the season...
